The resource-rich and largest province of Pakistan (Balochistan), is in danger. Balochistan, which is surrounded by the beauty of craggy mountains and has a historically rich background with unique cultures and traditions, is now in woes of different crises.
From economic issues to poor governance, all add to the loss of development in Balochistan and the development of a society connected with its youth, which has now become an endangered species. The candles of Balochistan are living in the darkness of societal illiteracy, which engages them in disastrous activities.
Our Young generation is facing multiple calamities due to a lack of basic needs.
The challenges are:
Economic crisis: The scarcity of employment opportunities for youth leads to poverty. Those young business minds, due to less funding, cannot run their small startups, which eventually collapses the world of their innovative ideas.
Societal crisis: In this modern era, where society is going towards modernization and disguising in AI face, the Balochistan youth are confronting the hindrance of basic education.
Lower literacy rates, due to inaccessibility and underfunding of schools, act as a barrier to quality education for the young people of Balochistan.
Health crisis: The paucity of healthcare facilities results in poor health outcomes. In addition, the catastrophic climate change badly impacts the mental and physical health of youth.
Furthermore, the shortage of clean drinking water is a very basic issue in Balochistan, which worsens the health of people. Healthy youth means a healthy nation. Health crises affect their education, skills, capabilities, progress, and financial condition, all of which directly impact national development.
Political crisis:
The political instability causes the youth to be involved in violent activity and homicidal actions. Due to social exclusion young ones are involved in extremist or violent activity.
Where the heroes of a nation should hold the pen to write the future of society, they instead hold weapons for homicidal attacks. The young people, who should be responsible for awakening the whole nation, are sleeping in drug-induced addiction. The heart and the tongue where love should prevail, hatred reigns over them.
The discrepancies with the expectations of the modern world will lead to depression, anxiety, and stress. This depressed environment of Balochistan is snatching all the confidence, positivity, and potential of youth to do something for their family or themselves.
Hampered limited opportunities, insecurities, and lack of freedom of speech are creating more digital terrorists instead of healthy, mindful youth. All the scarcities, from basic needs to the life responsibilities of young people unwillingly change them into a criminalistic nature as a way to express their anger.
The lives of the young people, which give hope for peace and development, are now attempting suicide. How can they light others’ lives in such a harsh environment?
In a world filled with favoritism, inequality, and corruption, how can this generation remain calm, happy, and ambitious? We are losing our future leaders, our influencers, our guides, and our enthusiastic souls because they are being continuously ignored.
Balochistan needs dynamic thinkers to implement new reforms, which is only possible if the youth engage in industrious activities rather than in criminal acts.
But the problem is that solutions implications are in a turtle walk whereas, the crises exacerbate the condition of the province like a termite is eating the wood.
Balochistan is now in its worst phase which needs serious and proper attention, the policies based on long-term and systematic change solutions can help it to overcome the challenges.
If this situation persists, then keep in mind we are merely producing a crowd with hollow souls, and consequently, we risk losing skillful minds. These inadequacies also cause them to stifle their expression of true potential and aspirations.
Equal opportunities and a healthy environment with developing programs, irrespective of nepotism, injustice, and elitism can work as a healing tool for innovative minds. But remember, Issues that don’t receive attention get stuck in a quagmire of problems, bringing a question mark on every face in Balochistan: What If Balochistan fails to get attention?
