SARDAR ATTAULLAH KHAN MENGAL

Sardar Ataullah Mengal, a distinguished Pakistani politician and influential feudal figure in Balochistan, led the esteemed Mengal tribe. His legacy is marked by a strategic transition of leadership, as he nominated his grandson, Sardar Asad Ullah Mengal, to carry forward the tribal mantle.

During the premiership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Sardar Ataullah Mengal assumed the historic role of being the inaugural Chief Minister of Balochistan from 1 May 1972 to 13 February 1973. His significant contributions and leadership during this period underscored his commitment to the development and governance of the region.

Regrettably, his demise occurred on 2 September 2021 in Karachi, leaving behind a lasting impact on the political landscape of Balochistan.
